Reminiscing this morning. 😭😭 I sure do miss my store and all my customers big and small. What a wild, wonderful journey it was.
Another shop in DT Franklin closing! Very sad to see the stores that built DT Franklin into what it is today being pushed out. When will it stop?!?! No one wants another store to expand into 2 stores. Stop the madness!!! You’re driving away business.

Can't even begin to tell you all how much I miss opening the doors of the toy store this morning to a line of customers waiting to shop. The excitement of the littlest customers and the mindful shopping done by families supporting our small business. This year has been incredibly hard and I've missed all of you so very much. Thankful for the time I had it and wish more than anything I was there to greet you all this morning. From our family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for the joy you brought us.

Empty! It's not the toy store any more, it's just a place I call a shell. This shell holds some wonderful memories, many before our son Matt passed away and many more after. It may be empty and it may change in the days to come but to me it will always be Main Street Toy Shoppe. Y'all have become family and that is what I will miss the most....our sweet little toy store's family. We are thankful for the time we've had, chapters aren't easy to end but there is always anticipation for the journey ahead. Not sure what that looks like yet but one think you can count on, I can't sit still for long. I will update often and let you all know if we find a new place to reopen the store. Here are a few pics of the store you often could rarely move in and also a picture of our son Matt. It was the last thing that we removed from the store and his little brother Ryan wanted the honor of doing it. Love to you all!! Now I'm gonna breathe.😘😘

These are the final 2 pieces we are needing to find a home for and I do not want to put these in storage. The shelves are all adjustable and we have 4 additional ones that go with them. We also have a box of silver pegs that work in the slat wall. Measurements are 102" and 90". They are 48" each in width and 16.5" deep. I'd prefer they go together and we've been asking $400 for the pair or $225 each. At this point we are willing to consider any reasonable offers. Would have to be picked up tomorrow or Tuesday. We have a large dolly to get it out of the store. Both in great condition.
These sweet ladies were the last official customers of Main Street Toy Shoppe (2005-2016). I choked up asking them if they would please take a picture we me. It's been an amazing journey and we are so very grateful for the memories we have and the wonderful friends we've made along the way. Main Street Toy Shoppe at 412 Main St Franklin, 37064. Final 2 days, we still have some decor for Easter (& other holidays), racks, displays, shelving units and a few toys. We are open today, Friday, from 10-2 and tomorrow 10-2. Everything left must go or it will be donated to a local non-profit. Prices on many items have been dropped. Here are the specific racks/displays available.
We are going into our final week and will be open Tuesday through Saturday, hours daily will be 10-2:30 each day. I will continue to post pictures of items still available throughout the week.
Still planning to open tomorrow morning at 10am. Reminder cash is preferred but CC's can be used with a 3% charge on fixtures/decor. Toys still can be purchased at 50% off (no additional CC fee). Bring recyclable bags for use while shopping and please be aware the store is no longer child friendly. Children MUST stay with parent at all times if in tow. Dear customers and friends! We have very little retail merchandise left at 50% off but we will be reopening this Thursday at 10am to begin selling our retail displays, racks, fixtures, pegs, decor, baskets, shelving, lighted/wooden/glass cabinets, plastic shelving units, etc. everything must go. I can not hold items for anyone, you'll just need to come Thursday or Friday between 10am and 2pm. Items can be paid for then held for 48 hrs until they can be picked up. Cash is preferred, cards can be used for a 3% fee. All pricing is 50-95% off the retail/original cost. Below are pictures from each room showing some of the items for sale. We encourage you to bring your own recyclable bags. So much more than what is listed here.

Tomorrow is the end of this sweet stores run. After almost 11 years serving the families of Franklin and putting smiles on the faces of our favorite customers, the wee ones, we will be closing our doors. We will be open tomorrow 10-5 and we are hosting a Customer Appreciation day. We will have cookies for the kids and be doing FREE glitter tattoos most of the day. All remaining items will take their final discount to 50% off! I will remain open the remainder of the month for limited hours as I sell the decor, racks, fixtures, slat wall, pegs, signage, displays and all items that pertain to a retail store. Just had a little girl (maybe 4yrs old) walk in with her mom, she kinda glared at me and said "what kind of store are you putting in here now?". I said "Someone else is making it a ladies clothes store.". She frowned and replied "That's terrible, I really like the toy store.". So do we sweet Zoe, so do we.

OK y'all, I'm posting again. The outpouring of support has been huge and we have had multiple offers/suggestions for various options. I was asked and wanted to publically share that I am willing to talk to someone regarding purchasing it. I am willing to sell for a fraction (about 20%) of my yearly sales but the store would have to be moved to a new location. No one wants the store to go and I have a lead on a very good place to move it to in Franklin but many have commented on moving it to Spring Hill or Columbia even. I am just not sure I have the energy to start over but my desire to see it continue is why I would sell for so little. I'm talking about selling the remaining inventory, all fixtures/racks/slat wall/pegs and decor (thousands of dollars worth), computers, registers, security/camera equipment and 10+ years of customers and business, etc. Message me here or call the store if anyone interested. A favorite downtown Franklin boutique is expanding and renovating the Main Street Toy Shoppe building.
It is with great sadness and disappointment we announce that after over 10 years in downtown Franklin, Main Street Toy Shoppe will be closing its doors. Due to circumstances beyond our control we were hit with an almost 50% increase in rent just prior to our lease renewal in September. We knew immediately that the business could not support such a huge increase. Our proposals and attempts to work out something we could afford were turned down. We were able to sign an increased short term 6 month lease in order to stay open through the holidays for our customers benefit and be able to pay our vendors back. We were informed at that point that another tenant, who was unaware of the details of our situation, was found and we were to be out at the lease end. We support our friends in their new endeavor and wish them well.
This store has meant more to our family than anyone will ever know. I came to work here in the summer of 2011 just a few months after the passing of our middle son from a brain tumor, and took over as owner one year later. I have often said it has been “therapy money could never buy” and I was right. This store has never been about the money for us, it was about the people we’ve met, the friends we have made and the smiles on the faces of children that walk into our front door every day. It has been about giving and not greed. We love you all greatly and thank you for sharing your families with us. Thank you for your purchases, kind words, encouragement and support through this very hard time.

Christmas! I don't know about you but I've barely started. We've still be getting shipment and have lots of great items still in stock. We are beginning to extend hours and will be opening early and staying later the next 7 days.
This coming weekend is Dickens of a Christmas in downtown Franklin. Make sure to plan to visit Saturday or Sunday and enjoy the sights and sounds of Christmas. We also have some very special princesses that will be joining us in the afternoon on Saturday.

Did you pick up a box to fill for Operation Christmas Child??? I would personally LOVE to help you fill it. I've helped a few customers already and have had such a fun time doing it. I've got so many great small toys, crafts and trinkets that fit perfectly!

The annual Veterans Day Parade in Franklin will take place Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 11 a.m. and will run through downtown Franklin.
