Today was our very last day of Kids Summer Art Camp! for 2026!

Today was so much fun! We began the day by starting our cross stitch pieces. We had some bookmarks that were pre printed with the design right on the cross stitch fabric. However, the colors that were printed were not the colors that they were meant to be! So that was a challenge! We had to look at the grid and the numbers to check to see which colors went where! We figured it out, but for a first cross stitch it was a little frustrating!

There were a couple of the kids that decided to draw their own patterns and then count and stitch their pieces! Very impressive!

We told the kids that they could take their cross stitch home to finish if they wanted and that they could chose to do another project of their choosing. Several chose to use a t shirt to cut to make their own fun, new shirt! A few chose to keep working on the boho bags and added pockets inside and out for more storage. Some wanted another boho bag to embellish and bead! Some wanted to continue to work on their cross stitch or the woven baskets. It was neat to see all the creativity when there were no restrictions! Creativity at its best!

Towards the end we made sure everyone had the supplies to take home for their projects that they didn’t finish and several showed off their bags. It was a really fun week with these girls! They were so kind to each other and opened up and laughed and talked and told stories as the days went on. It was a great way to finish out the summer!

Today was day 3 of our final week of 2026 Kids Summer Art Camp!

Today we let the kids work on embellishing their t shirt boho bags for a while. There was beading going on, some felt cut out, some hand sewing, some drawing and basically we pulled out anything and everything we could think of that they might want to add.

Then we got started on today’s project, macrame! We began by cutting the twine into all the lengths and amounts we needed to create a fancy leaf design. Everything was done with just two different knots, the larks head knot and the square knot.

These girls took to this SO easily! Everyone completed their knots and then they unraveled the twine and combed and shaped it. Then we cut out templates from contact paper to the shape of a leaf. The stuck it to the back of their piece and then carefully cut around the shape. They turned out beautifully! They got to choose to make it into a wall hanging piece or a keychain.

Tomorrow will be our last day and we’ve got a great cross stitch project to work on. We’re excited to see how they interpret the colors!

This group is so creative! You can tell each and every one of them loves art and crafting. Their imagination and creativity is inspiring! It’s so fun to see how they create totally different outcomes when we give them the freedom to express themselves with color and ideas from their own imaginations!

Today was the 2nd day of our final week of our 2026 Kids Summer Art Camp!

The kids worked on their weaving from yesterday for a little while and they are really making progress!

Then we started on our next project, a boho bag from a t shirt! They chose their color and we got to work measuring and marking. They did all their cuts and we stretched and tied the bottom and the fringe is so cute!

After they got the bag put together, it was now time to embellish! The fringe on the bottom was a perfect spot to put beads and we’ll get those finished up tomorrow!

It’s so much fun to see these kids be creative and put their own spin on what we do. That’s one of the most rewarding parts of this…we really love encouraging their creativity. ❤️

Today was our first day of our last week of Kids Summer Art Camp! for 2026!

We worked on a couple projects today. The first was a complex 7 strand twisted braid done with different colors of yarn. We had a wooden template piece that made it easier to complete the braid.

Everyone chose their desired colors and completed it and either made it into a bracelet, an anklet, a hair tie or whatever they wanted. They will each get to take the wooden template home at the end of the week so they can do these at home.

Next, we started on a woven basket with a wooden base. This was a bit tricky to get started as there were many different parts to keep track of included cording, the yarn and the base. Some of them like this type of thing and some of them find it frustrating. You’ll know who is who when they finish the project and either complete a basket or if they do a short trinket dish! 😂

The basket was very hands on with instruction and we didn’t get any pictures today, but we’ll be sure to get some while they work on it tomorrow. It may be an all week project to work on as they finish other things.

They were all quiet to start with but as we got going there was a little chatting. We ALWAYS talk about what we had for breakfast so that usually breaks the ice a little bit.

Come back tomorrow to see the next project!

What a day we had on our last day of our 5th week of Kids Summer Art Camp!

We finished every single project! And they did such a FANTASTIC job!!!

A couple of the girls wanted to color their easels a little more so they started with that today. If they were done we had them help clean up supplies from past projects.

Then we got started with the mosaic pieces. Each of them chose a different picture to either trace onto their canvas that they had painted black earlier in the week. They choose different colors for each section and glued them on and they looked absolutely amazing!

We then did our final project of painting with fun objects. They got cookie cutters, a squeegee, a fluffy pipe cleaner and a round pouncer. Different colors of paint were used for each different object to make different shapes and textures. It was neat to see how they decided to use each object!

This group got along so well and complimented each others work. It was wonderful week with these fun girls!

Today was our 3rd day of our fifth week of Kids Summer Art Camp!

Today we got to take our sun dyed prints out of the window and they turned out amazing! We took them downstairs and then rinsed them in water and the contrast really showed up so well!

The kids did an amazing job with choosing what to put on their papers and the composition! We had a tiny canvas and easel that they got to decorate and then add their favorite print.

Next we did a round collage with their choice of colors of tissue paper. They then chose letters and got to spell out different things like Love, mom etc. They turned out so cute!

These girls are so passionate about art! They’ve learned so many different techniques and have done an incredible job!

Tomorrow is the last day for this week of art camp and we’ll show you our final projects!
