Meet Candi!

Candi was born and raised in Frankfort and grew up in Indian Hills. After graduating from Franklin County High School in the Class of 1984, she attended Midway College on a scholarship for basketball and softball, and finished her degree at Georgetown College. She returned to her hometown to teach for 27 years - 9 years at Collins Lane Elementary School, and 18 years at Second Street School. Her husband Chris, who is also a Frankfort native and lifelong resident, is an insurance agent at Sturm Insurance.

Candi is absolutely thrilled to begin this new chapter as the owner as the shop makes this exciting transition. She can't wait to continue the business you've come to love as the premier destination for affordable, quality resale fashions in our capital city, and take it to soaring new heights as Candi's Closet! Welcome aboard, Candi!

After 7 wonderful years serving Frankfort as “the Cheapskates Lady” and a lot of thought and reflection, I have made the decision to retire. It has truly been an honor to do business with the community, and for that I thank each and every one of you! I wanted to make sure Cheapskates would continue on, since we know how much our customers love shopping here and rely on it as a source for great clothing and accessories at extraordinary value…

… and we are so excited to announce that we've DEFINITELY done that! Candi Arnold, a lifelong Frankfort resident who has served at both Collins Lane and Second Street School as a teacher for 27 years, has purchased the store, and will be taking it to new and better heights as CANDI’S CLOSET! As part of this new chapter for the store, it will move from its Eastwood Shopping Center location, to 706 East Main Street, Suite B. This is right across the street from CVS on East Main.

WHY IS THIS CHANGE HAPPENING?

I launched Cheapskates exactly seven years ago, and I have truly loved running my own business these last 7 years. But, as a new grandmother, the kids having grown up and moved out, I am ready to "retire" and enjoy being a Grandmother, travel with Pat in his work, and engage in other endeavors.

WHAT DOES THIS CHANGE MEAN TO ME AS A CONSIGNOR?

Not a thing! All your items, account balance, contract - everything will simply move to Candi's Closet effective December 1, the opening day. You will still be able to access your account online 24/7 through the MyResaleWeb site.

WHAT CHANGES CAN I EXPECT IN THE NEW STORE?

Three beautiful, spacious fitting rooms, a public restroom, a coffee bar, and an entire room dedicated to shoes (!!!) are just a few of the many great features coming to the new location. Additionally, you will be able to shop ONLINE through the Candi’s Closet website!
