The Martin 000-42EC 30th Anniversary Limited Edition celebrates three decades of Eric Clapton’s legendary collaboration with Martin Guitar. This milestone model takes inspiration from the legendary 1939 000-42 guitar Eric played during his iconic MTV Unplugged performance, faithfully capturing the essence of that pre-war Martin.

Crafted with premium tonewoods, the 000-42EC 30th Anniversary Eric Clapton pairs an Adirondack Spruce top with Guatemalan Rosewood back and sides with Adirondack spruce Golden Era-inspired scalloped bracing, Abalone Pearl 42-style top trim, rosette and snowflake fretboard inlays, Genuine Mahogany neck with Authentic 1939 shape with slightly thinner nut width and more. Interior label signed by Eric Clapton and includes a certificate of authenticity.

The 0 12-fret features custom flamed Black Walnut back and sides with a Bearclaw Sitka Spruce sunburst top, Walnut neck with slotted headstock, Flamed Maple full body, neck and headstock bindings plus Walnut/ Maple rope purfling taken from an early H&D banjo model.

Other features include Ebony fretboard and pyramid bridge, Figured Walnut headstock overlay, herringbone rosette and backstrip, Waverly Brass 3-per-side tuners with Ebony buttons, Pearl square and diamond fretboard inlay and logo, Maple wedge, Walnut heelcap, Ebony pins with Pearl dots and more.

The 0 is Huss & Dalton’s very comfortable sweet Parlor build. Measuring 13.5 inches across this is the versatile small body build with large robust tone and clarity that is sure to surprise you. The S-50 from Lowden Guitars is their premium smaller/ mid sized guitar featuring master grade tonewoods. This particular build we recently got in the shop has a stunning look pairing the old growth Sinker Redwood top with contrasting stripes and ghostly hue with figured Macassar Ebony back and sides with peanut butter/ chocolate contrast and subtle flame figure. The colorful Koa contoured arm bevel and bindings along with matching rosette with Abalone ring ties the rich and colorful palette of this guitar together.

A beauty from The Martin Custom Shop, this J-42 Koa Custom was crafted in close collaboration with the Custom Shop team at Martin’s factory in Nazareth, PA. Together, we hand-selected an exceptional set of highly figured Hawaiian Koa for the top, back, and sides, then carefully chose each specification to bring this unique custom guitar to life. Its visual elegance is highlighted by the Paua Pearl 42-style top border and rosette, Koa 45-style snowflake fretboard and bridge inlays, and a CFM block headstock inlay all framed with Paua Pearl accents. Cocobolo bindings grace the body, fretboard, and headstock, while Adirondack Spruce Golden Era forward-shifted scalloped bracing and Gold butterbean tuners complete the list of standout custom features.
