Who We Are
Reynaldo Zalles and his wife Hanna Zalles were our original founders of Zalles Racquet Sports. They served the Foster City area since 1991 providing valuable service to the tennis community with a legacy that lives on for many people who still walk through the doors today. Reynaldo is an official member of the Foster City Hall of Fame. They retired and sold their beloved store to Surina
De Beer and Berenice Mettler in September 2020. Today we at Zalles Racquet Sports continue to provide service and expertise as a “one stop shop” for tennis rackets, stringing, gripping, shoes, pickleball, apparel and more to the local and surrounding communities. We even have a hitting area and in-store demo rackets that is open to the public. Our demo program consists of hundreds of the most popular rackets and our staff can help guide you to right racket and grip size. We offer tennis lessons clinics and camps and aim to grow this in the coming months to serve more members of the community. Our Zalles family consists of Surina De Beer, a former professional player and current high performance coach, Vince Warren with over 25 years of in store helping customers and stringing experience, Berenice Mettler, professor in robotics with a current project of developing a tennis app, Will Devine, a grand slam stringer and decades of stringing experience, Sarah Ehler, a PTA and recreational tennis fanatic, Leila Russel, after being part of the store for a couple decades she currently is our book keeper, and newer staff family member Katie Hong adding her talents through serving customers, stringing and tennis camps.
