After 2 weekends of Open House sales, we have some holes in the Nursery! I began refilling these holes yesterday and today. 100 lavenders, 'Hidcote Blue' my favorite English lavender, and 'Primarvera' a new Spanish variety. 50 of a California native Penstemon from Santa Maria, one of the 'Mystic' Dahlias, and lastly, 50 of my favorite Coreopsis 'Solanna Golden Sphere'. These should all be ready by August. What a fun job I have! Play in the dirt, in the sun! 🌻🌼🌺🌹🌸

We have a new catmink (Catwalk Queen) in 1.5 gallons. They are budding and blooming. This is the best nepeta we have ever grown.
Our price is fantastic as well. Just $20. I expect to sell out this weekend.

Blooms!!

I think I may have posted about this before.
There is a rhythm to the seasons that is astonishing to me.
We had a glorious early display from our daffodils and tulips, then came the early shrubs like lilacs, weigeials and azalea and roddies.
Then the Spring perennials start, like salvias, geumsand agastache.
The fields bordering our farm erupt in carpet of ox-eyes daisy, white moving with wind. Glowing in the moonlight, almost surreal.
Makes me wonder when my Shasta Daisy will start to bloom?
Then I open my eyes and, wow! They are!
I need to watch, really see, so I don't miss anything!
Enjoy the season, which ever one you find yourself in!
Rightnow our native grasses are the star our farmland, beautiful mauve seed heads, incredible to touch, gently waving about.
If you come to the Nursery, take a short walk towards John's greenhouse and just touch and admire the grasses.

Our Nursery is looking mighty fine! My lovely wife, Julia, my partner in this little adventure is to blame! She is seemingly tireless in her efforts. No w**d is safe! (Although they pop up so fast we can't keep up, some of them are masquerading as the plants we are trying to grow!)
Come and check us out. We spent a full day cleaning up our brambles (Berries) this past Monday. We have a fine selection, including thornless Blackberries from the breeding program at University of Arkansas, Black Satin and Natchez. A thornless Raspberry that fruits on first year (Primocane) as well as second, so 2 harvests, called Arkansas Traveler. Big Bosen, Tay and Olallieberries and Raspberries! YUM!
