there’s just something extra special about a plant you grow from seed, node, or in this case, a corm 🌱 When my went dormant this year, I decided to cut it back rather stress about it all winter like I did last year 😅 It gave me 2 corms - one of which grew 3 leaves and I let it go in a trade last week, and this one which I just might have to keep for myself!

🌱 I got this stunning from a couple weeks ago, and when you’re all about that and you buy beautiful plants like this one just to immediately chop them up to regrow water roots to ensure the smoothest transition from soil 🙃

It’s one of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned during my leca journey this year… chop & prop before transferring! I don’t always take all the roots away, but only because I’m lazy - it is the right thing to do!

Soil roots are nasty and the rot is inevitable once they are placed in water. Though I’ve gotten away with it on many plants by excessive flushing - it’s so much easier and reliable to get fresh water roots before popping in leca 👌🏼

I’m going to sell the soil plant I took this cutting from - so prep my stories and holler if you want it! Local pickup only, I’m not in the mood to ship these days 🤪
