Did you know that some uncirculated Morgan silver dollars are known as a “Cartwheels”? This is due to the cartwheel effect that describes the rotating, windmill-like effect of light that these mint state coins exhibit. When holding such coins by the edge and turning them clockwise or counter-clockwise under a light or in bright sunlight while tilting them up and down, a rainbow forms resembling spokes on a wheel which actively rotates over the surface of the coin. Both "Blazing White" and "Toned" coins may exhibit this Effect.
