Two years ago I experienced a medical event that would forever change me and my family. Leading up to it, I took time for granted and thought I could put off things until a later TBD date. Now I feel like the time is now...and it's always later than we think.

It's been two years since I was stuck in the hospital, and this weekend I am taking some time to do a mother/son weekend away. My staff also is using the long weekend to spend time with their loves...so I've decided to close today. Enjoy your loves! We'll resume normal business hours Tuesday! xo

There is this quote by Toni Morrison that speaks to my soul about the importance of a solid friendship and/or relationship "She is a friend of my mind. She gather me, man. The pieces I am, she gather them and give them back to me in all the right order."

But it doesn't have to even be someone you know...when I think about the act of giving, there is always an element of receiving...so give that of yourself to anyone - with all your heart...everyday. They put on a fabulous dinner with guest (the “Grandmother of Juneteenth”) Dr. Opal Lee. And I just want to spread this message of hers "If people have been taught to hate, they can be taught to love."
