Char Sui Pork (Chinese BBQ Pork)
Recipe:
1 to 2 lbs Pork Tenderloin, Butt or Shoulder
NOH Chinese BBQ Char Sui packet seasoning (1 pack)
1/2 c water
1 tablespoon Oyster sauce
1 teaspoon Garlic powder
1/2 tablespoons Soy sauce
1 tablespoons Honey or brown sugar
2 tablespoons finely chopped garlic
2-3 stalks of green onion, cut in half and smashed to release flavor or chopped is fine
In a ziplock bag or bowl that’ll let the marinate submerge the pork, mix NOH packet seasoning with 1/2 c water. Mix well, if thick add a little more water. Add the rest of the seasonings, mix well then add pork. Flip a couple times to thoroughly cover pork. Push out all the air, seal and marinate for at LEAST 2-3 hours or overnight if you can! No longer than 48 hours.
On a rack, roast pork at 325 for 30 mins, baste with remaining marinade, then roast for another 20 mins, turning and basting until charring or until thermometer reaches 145. If charring too fast, cover with foil. Meat should be tender and sticky but not falling apart. Let rest for 10 mins before slicing and serving with warm rice.
