🏀⛹️‍♀️ March Madness season is almost her. Selection Sunday is March 15 - just a month away.

According to an April 2022 article in The Collegian (the second picture is of Jared Banks, author of the article), one of the “best ways to choose March Madness teams” is to let your dog make the call “ - because pups have great instincts! (Yep, really. Treats on either side = your bracket picks 😉)

Sometimes love comes with four paws and a wagging tail! In a heart-warming story originally shared on HuffPost, a blind couple, Claire Johnson and Mark Gaffey, met while attending a guide-dog training course, where their guide dogs instantly hit it off. Their shared experience caring for and training their dogs led to friendship, deeper connection, and ultimately marriage — with their guide dogs playing meaningful roles in the wedding ceremony itself (HuffPost via multiple reposts). 

Their story is a beautiful reminder that dogs don’t just help us navigate the world - they help us connect with others. From creating shared experiences and common ground to being part of life’s biggest moments, pups truly have a way of bringing people together - in friendship, support, and even love. 🐶❤️

I’m so excited to share Pups Uniting People’s first big bandana collection. If you and your dogs are fans of Ohio State, Penn State (in which case we have two options), Syracuse, Michigan, UNC, Pitt, or Villanova then we’ve got a bandana for you.

Did you know your pup can be your best wing-dog? According to the People article “Having a Dog in Your Dating Profile Photos Increases Your Chances of Matching, Survey Shows,” singles who include photos of their dogs on dating apps are more likely to get matches and spark conversations than those who don’t. In a survey of dating-app users, about 70 % said that having a dog in their profile helps attract more matches, and 60 % are more tempted to swipe right on someone with a dog pic - proving that our furry friends make great social connectors both online and in real life (People, March 9, 2021) .

Whether it’s signaling kindness and responsibility or simply sparking a shared laugh, dogs help open doors to meeting new people - from friendships to possible romantic relationships. Many singles even use their pups as ice breakers to start conversations in person, reinforcing that dogs aren’t just companions… they’re matchmakers too! 🐶❤️

Love finds a way - sometimes with a wagging tail. In a recent New York Post article, “Puppy Love: Couple with same dog breed met on apps and fell in love — and so did their pets,” journalist Angela Barbuti shares the story of a couple who matched online, quickly realized they shared the same dog breed, and discovered that their dogs’ instant bond helped spark something deeper between them (New York Post, Jan. 17, 2026).

Their story is a sweet reminder that dogs don’t just enrich our lives - sometimes they connect them. From breaking the ice on dating apps to turning a first meeting into a shared walk, our pets often help us lower our guards, show up more authentically, and open our hearts in ways we might not expect.

As Valentine’s Day approaches, we’re celebrating all the ways dogs bring people together (we are, after all, Pups Uniting People) - romantically, socially, and emotionally. Sometimes puppy love helps lead to human romantic love. Truly a win-win in every way! 🐶❤️

Not that any of us doubt the power of pups to unite people, but this story from CNN is a beautiful example of a dog bringing people together.
