Hereโs a formerly-black M1934 I polished and nickel/gold plated awhile back for a veterans charity auction.

Before and after photos of a worn nickel .25 ACP I did awhile back.

In the nearly 20 years I have been at it I have surely polished several thousand guns, but it was only last week I polished my first Taurus pistol. It was this Brazilian-made .40 cal PT 100 AFS

Iโve probably polished enough 500 magnums to outfit a small army over the years, but this recent one was the first to feature any 24k hardware. Thanks to Mark T. Jensen for trusting me with the work!
I just finished up this stunning set of twin Raptors this evening. Huge thanks to for trusting me with these beauties.
This Colt Combat Elite MK IV Series 80 1911 arrived two-tone with a blued slide and left polished nickel, stainless, and 24k. Thanks to for trusting me with the work.
I donโt know where those CZ boys over in the Czech Republic learned to polish, but this is what a mirror polished stainless steel CZ 75 B should look like, IMO ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ

Generally speaking, Iโm not a big fan of touch up polishing on nickel plated guns. There is no way to tell how thick the plated layer is. Until you break through it, that is. Then you know for sure. There is also no way to know whether the nickel has been re-polished in the past or how many times it has been. Each re-polish leaves the plated layer thinner, increasing the risk of breaking through next time. Still, some customers are willing to risk it, as this Model 19โs new owner was. As you can see in these before and afters, the swirl marks and fine lines were removed from the nickel, but the scratches, factory machining marks, and the few spots where the plating was already compromised are unchanged. All in all, not a bad improvement.
Here are a few before and after shots of the first Rapide I have had through the shop. The customer ultimately decided to have the trigger 24k gold plated to match the rest of the hardware instead of keeping it black to match the sights, grips, and barrel. Did he make the right call? You can vote for your choice in my stories.

This is the first aluminum-framed nickel plated Colt Cobra I have had through the shop. Itโs surprisingly lightweight. The original nickel had faded and discolored a bit. Thanks to for trusting me with the refinishing.
I donโt know where the TiN, engraving, or buffalo nickel grips were done, but everything else on this Gold Cup Trophy was done by yours truly, including buffing the nickels.
Iโm updating the website today with a ton of recent work. While doing so, I came across this photoshoot I did a few years back with two single action Blackhawks. I thought it was worth a re-post.
Like seemingly everything lately, this .45 Colt Officerโs ACP 1911 arrived blued and left mirror polished nickel. Unlike so many others, though, this one arrived in decent shape; there was just some minor wear and tear. The before and after photos nonetheless show a dramatic transformation.
Another salvaged snake. .357 magnum Python taken from rusted and pitted blue to mirror polished nickel. As promised, imperfect, but I think its owner (who is not responsible for the neglect, btw) will be happy.
A few progress shots of this rusty Python. Itโs far from perfect now, and wonโt be even when Iโm finished, but this snake will be worthy of the light of day if I have anything to say about it! โ๏ธโ๏ธ๐โ๏ธโ๏ธ

June was a busy month for birthday guns! This 9mm Champion 1911 arrived black and left as pictured, polished nickel with a few tastefully chosen 24k highlights. Commissioned for a very special birthday girl (whose photo with this little gem is shared with permission, btw) in IL, courtesy of her husband Rick.
Mirror polished stainless steel Gold Cup Trophy in .45
Swipe for the before and afters of this 9 mm Beretta M1951. It arrived with worn bluing and substantial pitting, but left in pristine nickel and 24k condition.
I have received several requests for black and gold Berettas recently, so for those of you I told there was one coming up soon, here it is! Thanks to for your continued business and for always wanting something awesome done! ๐๐ป
Looking through the archives this weekend I found a few side by side photos I had taken of polished and unpolished revolvers. The first set is of two stainless New Model Blackhawks and the second set of two new stainless Cobras.

Nice reflections on this 3" .357 magnum S&W 686-6 for Wheelgun Wednesday! Unfluted cylinder, too ๐๐
Just found this short clip of a new .38 Special +P C**t Cobra that slipped through the cracks a few months back.
March seemed to be the month of the Kimber, but April is already looking to be Beretta's time to shine. No complaints here! I finished up this Brigadier 92fs for a local customer earlier this evening. Ironically, he also has a Kimber in queue ๐
What better way to announce that I am now offering plating services again (nickel, 24k, and rose gold) than with these spectacular twin @kimberamerica Stainless Pro Raptor II pistols? Mirror polished and 24k gold plated .45 caliber BAM! ๐ฅ
For Wheelgun Wednesday I present this 8 shot .357 magnum Smith & Wesson Performance Center Pro Series 627. Couple flecks of lint on the barrel flat at the end, but otherwise a pretty sweet video ๐
Polished this Sig Sauer P220 ST .45 for @illmanneredgunrunner707 awhile back and completely forgot to share it with you. So here it is now ๐ค๐ค๐ค
Thanks to @realjessedorman for sending in his Kimber K6s .357 mag revolver in for polishing! Been waiting forever to get one of these in the shop! This is the first I've had my hands on and I was really impressed with the fit and quality. The disassembly/assembly is the most user-friendly I've encountered, revolver-wise. Anyone else have experience with the K6s? What are your thoughts?
It's been Cobra city around here lately! Here's a pair of almost twin Cobras to kick off the weekend. One is the special edition NRA Cobra. So far as I could tell, the grips are the only difference.
I have been waiting for years to finally get a Kimber Pro Raptor in the shop, as it's the only Raptor I haven't done yet. Then suddenly three come in almost at once. This first is on its way back to @biggwillswheels The next two will have some 24k work as well, so be on the lookout!
Just put the finishing touches on this .22 R***r Mark IV Hunter. A huge thanks goes out to my gunsmith, Whynot Gunsmith Shop of Whynot, MS, who helped with the reassembly. Anyone interested in fi****ms should be following his account. Each of his posts contains photos and videos of his work as well as insightful commentary, giving us a glimpse into how a master gunsmith diagnoses, troubleshoots, and solves the vast array of issues different fi****ms can present. I've learned a ton by following his posts. He's also a former Marine 0331 (machinegunner). I can count the number of people I trust to handle my polished guns on one hand. Vance is the middle finger ๐๐๐

This 10mm Kimber Eclipse Custom II arrived with flat black controls as well as matte black rounds on the slide and frame. The eclipse has officially ended โบ๐
Here's a live action shot of those twin S&W .357 magnum 7-shot 686s I posted photos of last week ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ
