Tea cultivation in Nepal dates back to the mid-19th century when British botanist Colonel Gajaraj Singh Thapa planted the first tea seeds. Commercial production began in the early 20th century, and today, Nepal is known for its high-quality teas, including black, green, and white teas, which are grown in various regions, particularly in the eastern part of the country.
