The dust of Sicily hangs heavy in the air as General George S. Patton Jr. surveys the horizon, his eyes fixed on the path to Messina. It is July 1943, the height of Operation Husky, and the "Cowboy of the Steppes" is in his element—out in the sun, among his "Joes," and driving his Seventh Army with a relentless, iron-willed pace that left the Axis reeling. In this legendary shot, Patton isn't just a commander; he is the personification of American armored might. Gripping his command crop like a cavalry saber and sporting those iconic three-star lacquered helmets, he directs the flow of battle with the same fire that saw him race across the Mediterranean landscape to beat the British to the prize. This was the moment Patton transitioned from a general to a titan of history, proving that "speed, simplicity, and boldest ex*****on" weren't just words—they were his way of war.

We’ve captured every ounce of that legendary grit in our latest release. This isn't just another "Joe" for your collection; it’s a museum-quality tribute. Our Patton scale model is available in 1/10 and 1/16 scale, and for the serious collectors out there, we have a HUGE 1/6 scale version that truly dominates the shelf. Whether you’re a hobbyist looking for your next project or a history buff wanting to honor the General, you can grab yours now at ww2bunker.com/products/old-blood-and-guts. Don’t let this one end up in a SNAFU—order yours today and bring a piece of Sicily 1943 home!

The 3rd SS Panzer Division “Totenkopf” was one of the most well-known divisions of the Waffen-SS during World War II. Formed in October 1939, the unit was initially composed of men from the SS-Totenkopfverbände (concentration camp guards) and the SS-Heimwehr Danzig. The division quickly developed a reputation for fanaticism and brutality, first seeing significant combat during the Battle of France in 1940, where it was responsible for the Le Paradis massacre. Following the French campaign, the unit was deployed to the Eastern Front for Operation Barbarossa, serving with Army Group North and advancing toward Leningrad.
Throughout the war, the division evolved from a motorized infantry unit into a Panzergrenadier and finally a full Panzer division. It was heavily engaged in some of the most ferocious fighting on the Eastern Front, including the encirclement at the Demyansk Pocket, the Third Battle of Kharkov, and the Battle of Kursk. The Totenkopf division was known for its distinct insignia and for sustaining exceptionally high casualty rates due to its aggressive combat style. The unit continued to fight until the final weeks of the war in Hungary and Austria before surrendering to American forces in May 1945.

Pinned another legend to the shelf today: a P-47 Thunderbolt “Jug” pilot in scale. The Jug was the bruiser of the skies—one of the first true close air support aircraft and a spiritual predecessor to the A-10 Warthog. It dove into flak, strafed armor and convoys, and still clawed its way back home. Pilots loved how much punishment this flying tank could absorb and yet still drag them back to base on a prayer and a cylinder or two.

This build is my little tribute to those ground-pounding workhorses and the men who flew them—oil stains, dust, and all. A heavy, loud, ugly-beautiful machine that made a massive difference in World War II, one low pass at a time.

Field Marshal Bernard “Monty” Montgomery, commander of the British Eighth Army in North Africa and later Allied ground forces in Normandy, was one of the most iconic leaders of the Second World War. Known for his meticulous planning, distinctive beret, and unshakable confidence, he played a decisive role in turning the tide against the Axis in campaigns like El Alamein and beyond.

This 1/10 scale bust is my small tribute to Monty—trying to capture his intense gaze, weathered face, and the texture of his famous sheepskin coat. Painted with airbrush and brush work, it was a great exercise in skin tones, fabric, and subtle weathering to bring this legendary commander to life on the bench.

Work in progress! My first proprietary sculpt—and who better to bring to life than Oddball from Kelly’s Heroes?
Still early in the paint stage, but I’m loving how the expression, gear, and classic Oddball attitude are coming together. Can’t wait to finish this one and give him the full 1944 vibe he deserves.
