🌸 Weekly update on the Proven Winners 20-inch pots out front!

This is Pink and Purple Tiara, and you've just got to love it. The color is incredible, the blooms are nonstop, and right now these containers are at their absolute peak. 💜🩷🤍

This will probably be my last update for a while until it's time for their midsummer haircut. As these vigorous growers get heavier and longer, they'll eventually start to thin out a bit at the top. When that happens, don't be afraid to give them a trim—sometimes as much as a foot. They'll bounce back quickly and reward you with another flush of blooms.

For now, though, they're simply gorgeous.

With the warmer weather comes pest season. Keep an eye on your flowers for budworms, aphids, and other heat-loving pests. Catching problems early makes all the difference.

Feed them, watch them, and enjoy the show! 🌸🌿

🌞 Ever wonder why some petunias are covered in blooms and others are just... existing? 😆

These are all Proven Winners annuals, but look at the difference!

📸 Photo 1 gets only about 4 hours of sun each day.
📸 Photos 2 & 3 sit in a south-facing location and soak up sun from morning until evening.

The result? More sun = more blooms!

Most Proven Winners petunias and other sun-loving annuals need at least 6+ hours of direct sunlight to really show off. When they don't get enough sun, they'll still grow and survive, but they won't produce nearly as many flowers.

Think of it this way: sunshine is flower fuel. 🌸☀️

So if your baskets or containers aren't blooming like you expected, before you blame yourself, check how much sun they're actually getting. Sometimes the difference between "a few flowers" and "WOW!" is just a couple more hours of sunshine.

The good news? Even the first container still looks nice. The others are simply showing what these plants can do when they're living their best sunny life! 😍

We still have beautiful Proven Winners containers and hanging baskets available, but due to extreme Del Norte County "river-calling" conditions, Redwood Roadside Bouquets will be closing early at 3:00 PM today.

Why?

Because Kali and Ozzy have filed a formal complaint that they're being denied river time. 🐶💦 And frankly, they make a pretty convincing argument.

🌿💐 One of my favorite things to do with my son Levi is go thrift shopping. We love hunting for unique little treasures, especially vases that can be given a second life.

These sweet frosted glass vases came from a local thrift store, and I couldn't resist turning them into one-of-a-kind flower arrangements. I love the idea of taking something that might have been overlooked and filling it with flowers grown right here in our gardens.

One of the unexpected blessings of my new work schedule is having Fridays free to create a few extra special arrangements for the shop. A huge thank you to Cal-Ore Life Flight for making that possible.

So this Saturday, along with our fresh bouquets, you'll find a handful of unique arrangements tucked around the shop, each in its own thrifted vase and each a little different from the next.

🐇🚜 And now... Rabbit Mode! 🚜🐇

The Waggon has arrived, and Grant has discovered it has more than one speed.

First it was "work mode."

Now it's "rabbit mode." 😂

I'm pretty sure he's just driving laps around the property looking for reasons to use it. If you see a blur of green flying through the nursery, don't worry—it's just Grant and his new favorite toy.

At this rate, I may never get a turn! 🌿🤣

🌿🚜 The Waggon has arrived! 🚜🌿

I thought we bought it for the nursery...

Grant apparently thought we bought it for him. 😂

So far, he's put more miles on it than any plant has. I may need to start making reservations if I want a turn.

I have to admit, though, this thing is pretty awesome and is going to save us a lot of steps around the nursery!
