My first Zappa experience happened in 1991. I got a job as a waiter at Ponderosa Steakhouse in Dayton, Ohio. That is where I met the world famous Goecke! Gokes and I were waiters and there was a cook in the kitchen named Josh Johnson- one of the most talented people I had ever met at the time musically! One night Josh played Zappa's Roxy and Elsewhere and my mind was blown. "Just like a penguin in bo***ge boy." spent the next few years listening to FZ and finding everything I could about the band. This was before the internet, it was not easy or cheap to dig into this music but I was sold.
