There has been quite a bit of confusion the last couple of days about whether fireworks are allowed and where. While some of the surrounding communities have placed a ban on fireworks, Rosebud county and the city of Forsyth have chosen NOT to do so. We want to remind everyone that fireworks are only allowed within the city on the 4th of July between 12PM and 12AM and no matter where you light them off, please be careful and keep water nearby.

Fire season is here if you didn't already know. With weather being dry and hot, fires are frequently popping up more often. That being said Rosebud County can't express the upmost caution when using fireworks this year. We want the people of Montana to be safe along with there property. Please still celebrate this countries independence but in a safe and responsible manner.

If you don't know your city ordnances please look online for them. Please read Forsyth City Code: Title 6 Chapter 2 for ordinances on Fireworks if you live in Forsyth or plan on lighting fireworks within Forsyth city limits.

If you choose to use fireworks and accidently start a fire, you will be charged with MCA 45-6-102 Negligent arson. And be held responsible for the costs of the damages and other expenses to put out that fire.
