Kagan & Gaines has new summer private lessons slots available for all instruments, including drums!

Please help us in welcoming new percussion instructor Alex Tellez to the store!

Alex is a dynamic drummer and percussionist who has been performing for over a decade. He’s well versed in jaws, funk, R&B, reggae, rock/metal/indie, mariachi, Latin/cumbia/salsa, and samba. He also practiced and performs on a number of other instruments including guitar, bass, keyboards, and vocals.

Alex is a graduate of UIC where he obtained a Bachelor’s of Music in Jazz Studies. He took private lessons with world class drummer Ernie Adams and participated in Jazz Combo/Big Band, Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, and Pep Band.

Alex’s passion for music is displayed in every performance and lesson he gives. Because of his versatility, Alex is able to help mold each student toward their personal musical interests and goals. He values the passing of knowledge and does whatever he can to put the student and their interests first.
