Like the Bible translations, the influence of William Shakespeare on the English language has been very profound. As an experimenter with the dramatic use of the language, he made some permanent contributions to the English language. His plays contain over 2200 never –seen – before words. Without him, our vocabulary would have been just too different. The following are some everyday words invented by him.
