Read for the Need

Read for the Need In 2005, 7 year old Taylor Graham had an idea. This idea was to have a book sale, and with the money from the sale, buy food for the hungry.

His first year, his goal was $500. But that year in an extra room in his local public library, he raised 8 times his goal, $4,000. Since then his idea has blossomed into an operation that has raised over $60,000 for food those in need.

Without living in Florence, Oregon, this project would not be possible. Tomorrow is the start of the book sale. This year is the seventh year that our community has brought books, donated money, and supported with me, and I couldn't be happier. I would also like to thankall the volunteers who have helped this year, and sorted and organized books to turn it in to what we see below. Thank you all, and I can't wait to see you tomorrow between 9-5, or Sunday between 9-2.
