TONIGHT is the Boards of Canada listening party for their new album “Inferno”.

Here are the ground rules for how we’re doing things. Please read if you plan to attend.

We have the black 2LP, we have the red deluxe 2LP with the booklet, and we have the CD.

We have eleven goodie bags and eleven keychains.

The stream of the album will start PROMPTLY AT 7:00 P.M.

When you arrive at the shop, you will be handed a number. A second card with that number will be dropped into a raffle box.

When the album is finished, we will begin pulling numbers out of the raffle box one by one. When your number is called, you can come to the front counter and purchase the format and variant that you want. THE FIRST ELEVEN NUMBERS CALLED WILL RECEIVE THE GOODIE BAG AND KEYCHAIN WITH THEIR PURCHASE. After those are all gone, we will continue to call out the remaining numbers for customers to choose the format they want.

This is, in our estimation, the best and fairest way to handle the giveaways, to make sure that everyone has an equal chance of scoring the extras.

We will also have a separate raffle for a sweet, two-sided Boards of Canada t-shirt (Size Large), hand-screened by one of our employees specially for this event.

A reminder to join us THIS THURSDAY, May 28 at 7:00 p.m. for our Boards of Canada “Inferno” Early Listening Session! We’ll be playing the new album in its entirety, and we’ll have some cool BoC swag to give away as well. Not only that, but we are allowed to sell the new album ONE DAY EARLY that evening, so not only can you listen, not only do you get free stuff, but you can go home with the new album as well!

AND (speaking of “not only’s”) not only are we the only record store in Kentucky doing this, we’re also the only participating record store in the entire Greater Cincinnati area. Come hang. It’ll be sweet.

Join us (and twenty other regional record stores) SUNDAY, MAY 24 for DAY TWO of the third annual MIDWEST RECORD STORE CRAWL! Stores from as far north as the frozen tundra of Dayton, Ohio all the way down to the swampy deep south of Florence, Kentucky will be taking part.

Here’s how it works: Each store will have its own individual promotions, sales, events, etc. PLUS each store will have a QR Code to scan and a unique code word to enter to prove that you visited their store. The more stores you visit, the better your chances are to win one of two grand prizes of $1,000 and $500 awarded at the end of the weekend.

For example, Morrow Records has put together a raffle to give away that includes:

A $50 Morrow Records Gift Card
An Audio-Technica AT-LP60X Turntable (a $199.00 value)
