Some people finish their shopping before the first ornament hits the tree.
Others wait until the tree’s leaning a little left, the lights are half working, and the pine needles are starting to mutter about unionizing.

Or in other words:
You’re shopping at the very, very last minute.

This is another post for both the stores until we get the facebook up and running!

— Timber & Flame has officially reopened its doors inside Rivals Hollow ar 1312 bay st..and to kick things off, we’re doing something simple for Black Friday:

No gimmicks, no exclusions. Whatever you find, whatever you fall in love with — it’s all 10% off, at both Timber & Flame and The Uncommon Collective.

If you haven’t come through yet, now’s the time. The dragon’s in place. The shelves are stocked. And Timber & Flame has come back bigger than ever.

The armory alone holds over 200 swords, 200 daggers, and more in between.
We’ve got engraved flasks, quote driftwood, oils, incense, books, journals, crystal crowns, hanging crystals… even stuffed animals, and stuffed animals on lollipops. (Yes, you read that right.)

I just want to take a moment to recognize the team that’s helped hold it all together.

This space took longer than expected — and definitely got messier than planned. The kind of long days that blur together… but through it all, I’ve had people around me who showed up in all the ways that matter.

Danny, Erin, Monica, Sky, and our newest team members -Amanda & Kathryn— each of them has held things down while I lived inside this project. Danny’s a walking archive of homesteading, engineering, D&D, chainmail, knives — you name it. He’s a wealth of knowledge and always ready to share it.

Erin keeps things running like clockwork. She’s taken on every part of keeping the stores moving while I focused on building this one out, and I couldn’t have done it without her.

Sky may only be in a few days a week, but she dives into every task with intention, brings her own artistry into the space, and probably knows more about anime than anyone else on staff.

Our two newest additions — Amanda and Kathryn — stepped in during the final stretch and brought a fresh energy that fits right in with the team.

Monica’s handiwork is still woven into so much of what you see — over the last year or so, she’s been behind the scenes helping with driftwood, art, candles, oils, and merchandising, always bringing her creative eye and talents to the mix.

And I’d be remiss if I didn’t give a quiet shoutout to Sydnee, who was with us for nearly three years and helped shape so much of what these stores became. She moved on to a great opportunity earlier this year, but her contribution won’t be forgotten.

And of course… my parents. If you’ve ever walked into one of the shops and walked out feeling a little lighter, that’s them. Southern charm, warmth, and the kind of family energy that just makes people feel better.

I’m grateful for every single one of them. Come say hello sometime — these are the folks who help make it all what it is.

After a long and mossy road… we’re open.

The grand reopening of Timber & Flame — or is it Rivals Hollow now? We’re still debating the name, but one thing’s for sure: the doors are open, the dragon’s breathing steam, and the world inside is worth the wait.

This is the lovechild of the old Timber and the rising Hollow… an armory of stories, swords, incense, leather-bound journals, crystals, crowns, plushies (even ones that hang on lollipops), Metal Earth puzzles, magical soaps, carved daggers, and the unmistakable scent of curiosity.

The moss hut lives.
The Ren Faire is never really over.
Pirate barrels now line the way.
And the dragon? He breathes fire and fog every 20 minutes (don’t worry — it’s non-toxic, non-irritant, water-based mist).

You will notice we’re still meandering through setup just like you are — displays are still shifting, pricing is still being added, and boxes are still finding their homes. If you find something without a price, just holler at us like you would in a village market. We’ll get you sorted.

It’s been a minute since we’ve posted… and for good reason.
We’ve been deep in the remodel of what was once Rivals Hollow — a slow transformation of stone, story, and sawdust into something new. Think a little Viking, a little Renaissance, a little dragon-guarded library — and a lot of wonder.

While that world nears its grand reopening, the second room that could at Uncommon has carried the torch. It’s been our keeper of puzzles, games, and all things curious… and now it’s also where you’ll find your last-minute Halloween magic.

Masks. Cloaks. Corsets. Trinkets. Maybe even a dagger or two.
If your costume needs that final touch — don’t be shy, ask at the counter. We may be able to help with a sword, dagger, or something suitably dramatic if you know exactly what you’re after.

But for those just hoping for a sneak peek of Rivals Hollow… have a little patience, brave traveler. Every minute spent giving tours is a minute not spent finishing the realm itself — and we promise, it’ll be worth the wait.
