Apparently, you can’t take Scott and me to a sapphire mine without things getting a little… weird. 😂💎

While mining for Montana sapphires, we decided to reenact that famous pottery scene from Ghost.

Let’s just say ours was a little less sexy, a lot more silly… and instead of beautiful pottery clay, we were working with clay made from reclaimed water from the sapphire mine. 😂🙈

Nothing says romance quite like being covered in mine mud while searching for gemstones! 💦💎

These are the moments that make the adventure — getting dirty, laughing at ourselves, learning where these incredible stones come from, and bringing a little piece of Montana back home to Shipley’s.

Fiery Spessartite Garnet—also known as orange garnet—paired with the incredible natural beauty of Boulder Opal, all surrounded by sparkling diamonds.

The rich oranges, earthy tones, flashes of color and diamond sparkle are giving us ALL the colors. Boulder opal has so much natural character that each piece truly feels like a little work of art.

During our trip we will be exploring the mines, learning from industry experts, and seeing firsthand how these remarkable American-mined gemstones begin their journey.
