Something between a finished object and a work in progressâthe Adelphia pattern by , slightly modified to become a pillow!
This pattern, designed as a purse, uses simple wrap and turn in garter stitch, which is such a fun and forgiving way of doing bold, graphic patterns of stylized leaves and other shapesâcheck out more of Linneaâs patterns that incorporate this technique in shawls, hats, and all sorts of objects!
Linda added 10 stitches to make the piece more square and also used two fi*****ng yarns left over from other projects to add a mottled green shade to some of the leaves. You can see in the last photo where she used the trick of winding the two yarns around her finger to get an idea of how they would look together with the main green shade.
Next steps: block (very important to smooth out the knitted fabric), then stitch on a cotton backing before joining the front piece to a back piece which will be dark blue-green with a button closure.
Have you tried a short row piece like this? Would you like to?! Let us know if youâre interested in a class for something like this !
