Just got back from the Seattle Survival Preparedness Expo. As soon as the doors opened at 10am I had an enthusiastic crowd at my booth. And the crowds continued to show up periodically whenever a class let out. Also I showed my new Handy Pump display for the first time, which I just built last week. Lots of attendees pumped the handle, the display didn't malfunction, nobody got wet, everybody saw what a great pump it was, and I got two immediate orders out of it, with hopefully more in the pipeline. I also talked about the High Lifter a bunch and gave out hundreds of pages of literature. Very nice show. Too bad I had to drive into the teeth of a record-breaking storm to get there. Fortunately I was able to score a free Craiglist camper shell on the way there, otherwise my display would have been soaked and the camping situation would have been miserable. To save money, I stayed in some very pretty but rather rainsoaked campgrounds. When I entered Champoeg State Park in northern Oregon it had been storming pretty hard all evening, and I thought that I would probably be the only (rainsoaked and foolhardy) soul in the whole place, but it was filled with RV's and campers of all sorts. And the next morning people were even out hiking and biking in the rain. Those Oregonians are a hardy sort apparently.
