Orders for hatchets and big axes are now open! Send us a message and we'll get you squared away!
These beautiful Virginia pattern heads are designed to perform as quality throwers and milled from billet S7 tool steel by Distal Steel.

Hatchet specs: 1lb 8.5oz head weight, bit length just under 4", and a thin profile for throwing. Hatchets are vailable head only or hung on 13.5" or 16.5" handles, straight or curved, and finished with Axe Wax.

Big axe specs: 2lb 6.4oz head weight, bit length a little under 4.6", and the same thin profile hollow grind as the hatchet. Big axes are also available as head only or hung on a 25.5" handle that can be octagoned or rounded.

Been playing with resin lately. I've had the idea of a target clock kicking around for quite a while and I'm super happy with how it came out!
Also made some serving/charcuterie boards out of maple and purple heart/zebra wood.
Will be making more to put up for purchase and have more details to share in the future.

Got some more big axe progress photos to share from Distal Steel. Steel is looking decidedly axe shaped now. Can't wait ...

Made the sides of this handle from a piece of a Jack Daniel's barrel. I wanted to keep the charred interior and branded exterior surfaces and sandwiched them to some hickory in the center. Finished up at 16.5" long with a black walnut wedge, fit to a beautiful, thin Plumb National head, and finished with Axe Wax. I got the idea after John Bradley gave me a barrel stave in ATL and happened to stop by the Jack Daniel's distillery on the drive home. Really happy with how this came out, thanks to 81 Axes and Vin for the pointers figuring out how I wanted to make my first laminate handle.
