As a reminder, artist Helen Lewis will be joining us on Saturday, March 28 for an exhibit and reception from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Mine Hill Trading Co. Please plan to stop by our shop at 5210 First Coast Highway, Amelia Island, FL 32024 to meet and talk with the artist about her process, enjoy refreshments, and shop from our selection of art, furniture, and home decor. Helen is bringing us a new series of artwork featuring watercolor, pastel, encaustic, and graphite on ephemeral papers from the 1800’s and early 1900’s.

Contemporary artist, Helen Lewis, finds elements that show the passage of time to be intriguing and beautiful. Aging brick, weathered peeling paint, lovely old handwritten script, bits of ephemera, patterns on shells and beach stones all inspire her work. Stop in at Mine Hill Trading on Saturday, May 18th to see how these translate to texture and mark making on her paintings. Enjoy a mimosa and talk with the artist about her process.
