For those who know us, we like to pair an art history lesson with our launches 🎨🖌️ Much of the inspiration for our Folk Art & Flora collection came from the beautiful illuminations found on old German-American documents, such as birth certificates and marriage licenses. These commemorative pieces were carefully adorned with hand-painted flowers, vines, birds, and intricate lettering, turning everyday documents into little works of art.

We wanted to share this birth and baptismal certificate belonging to Kim’s mom (Jessie’s grandma!), Janet Bankert Wagner. It felt especially meaningful to draw from a tradition that connects us to our own family history, while giving it our own Western twist 🤠

August’s collection is especially close to our heritage and our hearts. Our family has roots in the Pennsylvania Dutch region of America. Jessie’s great-grandmother (Kim’s grandmother), Emma, was born and raised on a farm in Lancaster County. During this time, everyday life was deeply connected to craft, tradition, and the beauty of the handmade. We wanted to pay homage to that history while bringing its influence into our own western world.
