Early this morning the House Judiciary Non-Civil Committee, after SB 36 was recommitted from the House Rules Committee, heard and passed a substitute bill that removed all of the offending language in Section 2.

However, GA2A will continue to oppose efforts to mandate unconstitutional storage practices that impose criminal or civil liability on gun owners.

This week, GA2A sent a letter to LaGrange Mayor Willie Edmondson about the city’s “Gun Buyback Event.” Not only is “buyback” a misnomer (since local government never owned these fi****ms) but the city’s plan to destroy the weapons collected violates state law. We urge the Mayor to abide by rules and put these fi****ms up for auction.
