Used book trade-in hours are starting 📚
We’re building the opening collection for Canary Books, so we’re going to try our first used book trade-in window:
This Thursday, May 7th
5-6:30 PM
Front porch at Wood Iron
Bring us your good-condition used books and we’ll take a look for possible Canary Books store credit.
A few notes while we test the system:
• Please bring no more than 25 books at a time.
• Please plan to stay with your books while we review them.
• We may not accept everything. We’re starting small, so we have to be selective.
• You are responsible for taking back any books we don’t accept.
• Please don’t leave books at Wood Iron outside of trade-in hours.
Accepted books receive store credit only. In general, credit will be around 25%-30% of our planned used-book selling price.
Store credit can be used toward up to 50% of a future Canary Books purchase. So if you have $10 in credit and buy $10 worth of books, you can use $5 in credit and save the rest for next time.
We’re especially looking for fiction, mystery/thriller, sci-fi/fantasy, kids books, middle grade/YA, cookbooks, gardening, art/design, nature/outdoors, WV/Appalachia/regional books, memoir, essays, poetry, classics, and interesting nonfiction.
We’re not taking textbooks, encyclopedias, Reader’s Digest condensed books, moldy/smoky/damaged books, heavily highlighted books, outdated computer/medical/diet/travel books, magazines, or old reference books.
Thanks for helping us build the shelves!
