This is going to be so cool!!! You don’t want to miss it!
Join us on the Library patio (facing Truist Bank) on June 10th at 10am for a torchworking demonstration led by Mike Tracy of ECU's The GlasStation!
Torchworking, also called Flameworking or Lampworking, is a process of working glass where the artisan manipulates the glass in a bench mounted torch. The process has predominantly been used to create glass devices for scientific or industrial purposes, but has also been adopted by crafts people and artists. In this demonstration Mike Tracy will show off the process by making a simple vessel while talking about the contemporary history of glass art.
