There are times in life that just mean a little more, and this week is one of those for me.
I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to fish the Bassmaster Open on Grand Lake, and I don’t take that lightly. I’m just a simple man who loves being on the water, and getting to compete at this level is something I’m truly grateful for.
What makes it even more special is being able to share this moment with a young angler from Gentry, Westyn Nance. Watching him experience this stage, seeing that excitement and passion, that’s what it’s really all about. It takes me back to why I started fishing in the first place.
Sometimes it’s not about the fish, it’s about the people you meet, the memories you make, and the chance to pass something on to the next generation.
This is one of those times I’ll never forget.
