Color is usually the first thing that catches your eye in the field, but when it comes to performance—both in garden design and floral arrangements—bloom size and petal architecture tell the real story.

🌿 Ivanetti (Ball Form): Dense, perfectly symmetrical, and incredibly durable. Ball dahlias hold up exceptionally well in transport and have some of the longest vase lives of any form.

🌸 Penhill Watermelon (Informal Decorative): A showstopper. Its large, undulating petals add volume and drama, but its heavy heads require deep harvesting cuts to secure sturdy stem support.

🌼 Platinum Blonde (Anemone Form): Texture at its finest. The pale buttercream center disk surrounded by crisp white outer petals brings an unexpected, architectural element to arrangements.

The other day at City Hall, I overheard a tour guide telling a group of students that Farmington was once nicknamed the “City of Roses”.
