Happy Saturday Spinsters! Some new merch in this week! A restock of Silver Age Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 Decks, starter decks, coloring books, cards, starter decks, rarity collection and gem packs.

Reminder that tables are available today for Open Trade Day & Pack Wars! Tables available today and tomorrow for anyone to bring their collections in and trade with each other or the general public. Pack wars offered only today from 11am-4pm.

How our version of pack wars works: you and a partner each buys 1 pack of the same option out of available shop stock, Drew Calahan will call out a stat or card detail; i.e. football packs: player with highest passing yards. Participants would look through their packs, one with the highest passing yards wins that round and wins 1 pack of the same that was purchased. I.E. Magic cards: creatuee with highest attack. Participants would win if they have the highest attacking creature out of the packs opened, and would win 1 pack of the same magic cards bought for that round.

No limits on the rounds, and players may do as many as they like. Each round does not have to be only 2 players, a 2 player minimum is required, but can be unlimited. However, there would only be 1 winner each round.

Come bring some stuff to trade, hang out, rip some packs and just have fun with the strong card community the area has to offer!

Happy Friday Spinsters! Reminder that this weekend is Open Trade Day & Pack Wars! Tables first come, first serve for those that would like to hang out and trade amongst each other or the general public. Trade days offered this Saturday AND Sunday! During shop hours of operation! Pack wars will be offered on any Saturday edition of Open Trade day, from 11am-4pm. You and a partner each purchase a pack (of anything in stock---but must be the same item). We will call out a random stat or condition etc, the person that comes closest or is first to pull, will win a free pack of the same that was purchased!

70 MPH in Missouri isn’t really a speed limit — it’s more like a statewide experiment to see how aggressively people can merge during thunderstorms 😭🚗🌩️

You start driving through Missouri thinking:
“Alright… rolling hills, Midwest charm, maybe a calm little road trip.”

Wrong.

Too slow? There’s already a silver pickup truck from rural Missouri materializing behind you out of nowhere doing approximately the speed of sound 💀

Too fast? Doesn’t matter — somebody in a Dodge Charger with Cardinals stickers still passes you at 93 while holding a gas-station energy drink and spiritually ignoring traffic laws.

You try cruising at a respectable 76.

Immediately passed by:
• a St. Louis commuter weaving through lanes like they’re escaping federal agents
• a muddy farm truck carrying enough equipment to rebuild the economy
• a college kid from Columbia driving like every highway entrance is a drag strip

And somehow all three disappear into the rain before your GPS can even reroute.

Then comes Missouri weather.

Not normal weather.

Missouri weather behaves like it’s spinning a wheel every 20 minutes 🌪️😭

One minute:
sunshine, blue skies, peaceful vibes ☀️

Next minute:
• rain starts falling sideways
• thunder shakes the entire interstate
• the sky turns green enough to make everybody quietly nervous

Meanwhile somebody in a Bass Pro Shops hat is still confidently doing 84 through a lightning storm like this is completely standard behavior.

Then traffic stops.

No crash.
No construction.
No explanation.

Just one person slowing down because they saw the Gateway Arch and decided the interstate was now a sightseeing tour 🏙️💀

Classic Missouri.

You finally start moving again and think:
“Okay… we’re good now.”

Absolutely not.

Now you’re trapped behind:
• an RV heading toward Branson
• a convoy of semis creating rolling-wall traffic
• and at least one out-of-state driver experiencing Kansas City merging for the first time

Meanwhile somebody nearby is casually eating toasted ravioli while driving with one hand like it’s spiritually required 🍝😭

And just when you think the road can’t get more chaotic…

A deer appears beside the highway.

Not scared.
Not moving.

Just standing there in the rain staring at traffic like it personally owns the Ozarks 🦌💀

Your GPS says:
“Arrival in 48 minutes.”

Missouri says:
“That depends… are you crossing St. Louis at rush hour, trapped behind trucks in the hills, or entering Branson during tourist season?” 😭

And somehow, through ALL of this…

There’s still one person driving exactly 70 in the left lane like they were personally appointed by the state to enforce emotional growth and patience.

Welcome to Missouri highways.

Where every road trip includes random tornado anxiety, aggressive merging, confusing weather, gas-station cuisine, and at least one person treating I-70 like the Daytona 500.

Tonight we’re glowing RED & GOLD in celebration of a HUGE accomplishment for one of our local athletes!! ❤️💛

Congratulations to Caledonia Valley Viking Daisy Kearns on becoming the NEW Class 1 State Champion and STATE RECORD HOLDER in the 100m hurdles!! 🏆🔥

What an incredible moment for our small town communities and local athletics. We’re proud to celebrate such hard work, dedication, and determination!

Our shop lights will be shining red and yellow tonight in your honor, Daisy! ❤️

Happy Tuesday Spinsters!!! We've an update on our ongoing Medieval Beavis scavenger contest! The second of 4 Beavis Knight shards has been discovered! 2 still remain! Once all 4 have been redeemed, ONE winner (1 out of 4 chance) will be drawn at random to win The Pack Rack copy of an Odyssey Foil Tarnished Citadel!!!

Happy Saturday Spinsters! Some new merch drops! Reminders for this weekend's events: Pokemon: Sealed Constructed: Extended 10am-2pm, Flesh & Blood: Living Legend Ultimate Pit Fight 2pm-6m. Nexus nights play opportunity 2pm-6m as well.

We currently do not yet have Nexus Night promos, but will offer $5 store credit per win for those that do show up and participate.

Tomorrow's Magic Presents: Open the Archive Booster Draft has been cancelled. We will reschedule once we receive the necessary promo prize items for the event. Reminder that we do offer random promos from past stock for participation prizes as well as league play points towards earning a chance of store credit of upto $75!!! For many of the tcgs we host.

Other BIG events coming up: Open Trade Day & Pack Wars! Next weekend! Open trade will also be available Sunday, but without the Pack Wars option.

Our first actual pre-release will occur with Marvel Superheroes! The launch party starts with Magic Presents: Marvel Avengers Academy! Then continues with Magic: Marvel Superheroes 2 Headed Giant Prerelease & Costume Contest ! That's right! We're throwing in a costume party element for our pre-release event! No cost for the costume entry! Should we have enough attendance and participation, we hope to award prizes of $75 for 1st, $50 for 2nd, and $25 for 3rd. (Store credit) Costumed attendees would be expected to pay for and participate in the actual prerelease, but there would be no additional charge for the costume.

Those that attend both an Avengers Academy session AND one of the Pre-release opportunities will recieve a special limited edition collectible item!

Lastly, we have chosen the recipient of our first annual Troy L. Marler Memorial $1,000 grant! They will be contacted today. A specific more detailed announcement will be posted in the very near future!

If you would like to support future funding of our grant program, the best way to do so is purchasing ANY of the brown lunch sacks of cards we have for sale. This includes the new that have been added to the program. 💯 of funds collected from their sales go into the program. You may also donate cards to the program that we use with a mix of shop stock to create the bags.

It's that time and Armageddon is nigh! The new 11th edition of Warhammer 40k is rapidly approaching.

We haven't been given a price, and we don't have an actual release date, yet, but we have been told we can begin taking preorders now with a deadline of Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at noon. So drop in or give us a call at 573-516-0355 to pre-order one of these grimdark beauties.

Reminder to all we are still accepting nominations for the first annual Troy L. Marler memorial grant! 💯 funded by our community backed "Card Cafe" lunch sacks sales. The grant is for $1,000 to be awarded to a graduate for the class of 2026. They may be from any of these schools: Arcadia, Fredericktown, Bismarck, Farmington, North County, West County or Central. We've gotten a handful of nominations in. Forms can be picked up at the shop, or simply come by when we are open and leave the necessary information with us.

The grant is NOT based on academics or athletics. It is based on charachter--those that show kindness, humbleness--willing to help without seeking recognition. The deadline for nominations is Friday, May 22nd by 8pm. We review all nominations and make our decision before Memorial Day.

Help us by getting those nominations in! This is a GRANT, not a scholarship. Therefore the winner may choose to spend it however it best helps them! We've already started collecting towards next year, by adding mystery bags to the Card Cafe! A small start so far, much more to come!
