Did you know that osteoporosis is no longer considered an older person’s disease?? 🩻

We are seeing more young people that have been diagnosed with osteopenia and osteoporosis. This is due to inactivity when young, are on certain medications, history of osteoporosis and early menopause for women. Most individuals realize that they have low bone mass after they break a bone.

So, what do you do??

If you are young participate in high-impact sports. We peak at bone mass in our mid to late 20’s. By building bone density when young, bones will have more density as we age.

If you have been diagnosed… weight-bearing, heavy but safe resistance training, balance, posture, and safe impact exercises.

Also look to see if there is a bioDensity in your location.

The bioDensity machine safely and effectively uses the principles of osteogenic loading to improve bone health and reverse osteoporosis. The force created is self-applied, keeping the participant safe. You are able to create force that is multiples of your body weight and much greater than that achieved with traditional resistance training. It is these multiples of body weight that create the force needed to achieve increases in bone mineral density. Performed 1 time per week for 15 minutes or so.
