July is Independent Retailers Month. Music151 is a part of fp Music Academy, locally-owned and independent.

Independent retailers are privately owned businesses that operate free from franchise agreements or corporate chains. Think your local bookstore, the family-owned hardware shop, the boutique in the center of town. They set their own prices, make their own decisions, and pour their profits back into the community.

In Iowa, they make up a significant share of our registered businesses, and they are a big part of why our local economies work the way they do. If you have the chance this month, shop local.
