Texas summer temperatures can heat sidewalks and asphalt much faster than we realize.
Before your pup walks across hot pavement, remember the 7-Second Hand Test:
✋ Place the back of your hand on the pavement for 7 seconds.
🔥 If it’s too hot for your hand…
🐾 It’s too hot for your pup’s paws!
A few easy ways to keep them safe:
🐾 Walk during the cooler morning or evening hours.
🌳 Choose grassy or shaded paths whenever possible.
💧 Bring fresh, cool water wherever you go.
🚗 Never leave your pet in a parked vehicle.
❤️ If your pup seems overly hot, take a break in the shade and let them cool down.
Their paws work hard every day—let’s help protect them!
