💕Here's another reason why the business community is so incredible. Today we are highlighting a fabulous women-owned business, , owned by Cydney Crain Post.
Cyd is giving back to the Central Street community through her new Community Classes program. This program kicks off tonight at 7pm at her studio, located at 1937 Central Street. Throughout the month of March and April, 100% of the proceeds from the suggestd $10 class donation will be donated to of the American Indian located at 3001 Central Street.
Currently on display at the museum, the thought-provoking traveling exhibit, No Rest: The Epidemic of Stolen Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2Spirits, honors and illuminates the plight of countless Native individuals who go missing or are murdered each year through art and activism.

🎨Today we're featuring another woman-owned business, Gallery 1925, located at the corner of Prairie and Central. The owner, Laura Soskin Design, is an interior designer by trade and avid collector of ancient and obscure finds. Laura has a discerning eye for design, and she's graced Central Street with treasures that she's collected over the past 20+ years.
We especially love all the cool finds that show up at Gallery 1925 after one of her buying trips or a visit from her friend Hamadou. Stop by and see what's new (but antique).

🌸🌻Spring is right around the corner, and we hope you enjoyed the holiday lights on Central Street, Evanston. The lights will be coming down from the trees, buildings, and lamp posts after tomorrow. Each year our lights in the trees come down to allow for our wrapped branches and trunks to breathe and grow stronger and taller for the next holiday season. The patio lights in Independence Park will remain for now, and before you know it our planters will be filled with colorful spring plantings.
**TRIVIA TUESDAY** Do you know who's behind the beautification, marketing, and programming that happens on Central Street? It's the support of the businesses along Central Street! The Central Street business district is made up of two Special Services Areas (SSAs) that are funded by a commercial property tax levy that is managed by the Central Street Evanston non-profit organization. Businesses located within the SSA boundaries benefit from special programming all year long.

So this is our third Ukrainian flag. The first two were stolen. It's not the nightmarish smash and grab travesty that our awesome neighbors over at Mack's Bike and Goods had to deal with last week, but it's sh*tty and disappointing. We've also had our pride flags stolen and our original Earth Day flag.
