I started this piece back in November of 2025 when my got back from a trip to the Redwoods. Pebble Beach is one of my favorite hidden gems of that area of California, with tide pools galore, I could spend a few days just looking out at this view. I hope you like it too!

On a sappy note, it has been truly an incredible gift to watch Bethany’s small business grow into this amazing powerhouse! It is such a joy to share a space with her and her fabulous team! And it is so easy to be inspired by each of them since they all see their own clothing! 🙌🏼

3 years ago I did a whole collection of fabric collage pieces where I embroidered on solid fabrics with monochrome, patterned stitches. It was a labor of love and something I’m still incredibly proud of.

I was missing stitching and decided to incorporate more embroidery into my kinusaiga pieces—and the idea was born to recreate some of my previous designs in this art medium.

And talk about learning curve, I made so many mistakes, had to redo so many elements but I’m so very elated with this final product. Over 50 hours of stitching later and this 6” x 6” piece is finally display ready!

(And while I’m flattered anyone would want to attempt this, I will not be teaching this template, or style or offer any kits. Remember, I’m also a working artist that sells original artwork too, not just a teacher 🥰)

Grief is such a complex thing, but I find that art has the most amazing way of helping me through it. This quilt is one of my most prized possessions—and it always makes me feel like Grandma Marlys is with me. I think it would have really made her smile to see me make this miniature version with her fabrics.
