.soldier spittin … Sometimes strangers will support you faster than the people who’ve known you your whole life.
That’s not an accident.
As a mindset coach, motivational speaker, and ex-military, I’ve learned a hard truth: proximity does not equal loyalty, and history does not equal support.
The people around you don’t always want the best for you they want the comfortable version of you. The version that doesn’t outgrow them. The version that doesn’t force them to confront their excuses.
Jealousy doesn’t always look like hate. Sometimes it looks like fake smiles. Late replies.
Backhanded compliments.
Jokes about your discipline.
Silence when you win.
Envy is quiet but it’s heavy.
The moment you start leveling up your mindset, your habits, your standards, your circle… something shifts. People who once cheered for you start measuring themselves against you. And when your growth becomes a mirror to their lack of discipline, motivation, and confidence, they don’t get inspired they get uncomfortable.
And uncomfortable people don’t clap. They criticise.
You might be trying to drag everyone up with you but here’s the raw truth:
Not everyone wants to be saved.
Some people are committed to staying average.
When you upgrade your life, some will see you as an enemy instead of an example. Not because you changed but because you refused to stay stuck.
Remember this:
Some people want to see you do well… just not as well as them.
Protect your energy.
Respect your growth.
And stop shrinking just to keep insecure people comfortable.
