Today as many of us prepare to hand out candy to trick-or-treaters, it is a great day to learn about the realities of the large scale chocolate industry which continue to contribute to major social and environmental justice issues such as human trafficking, child slavery and deforestation in the wonderful W Africa.

Did you know that the majority of the world’s chocolate comes from two tiny countries in W Africa, Ghana and Cote D’Ivoire? And cacao is produced there by some of the most impoverished people on the planet.
Might think twice about that cheap candy, eh?
