As another year comes to a close, so does the 28 year chapter of Rustic Mountain Charm. Before the final chapter closes 12/31/2021, the story would not be complete without expressing gratitude.
Thank you to John and Corrine Mutchler for having the first vision of Rustic Mountain Charm back in March, 1993. Thank you to them for hiring me as a summer clerk in 1995. Thank you for trusting me to carry on the torch when you sold me the business in January, 2002. Yes John, I have forgiven you! Lol
A most special thank you to Dianne Seybold Sanford for selecting me to be the new caretaker of 135 East Elkhorn Avenue. Moving into the “Grand ‘Ole Dame”downtown, and later purchasing it from you, changed the course of Rustic Mountain Charm. I have always said you were my guardian angel.
Thank you to a village of people, too numerous to name, who helped me remodel and move the two locations into the permanent home we have enjoyed to this day.
Thank you to Jim Miller of Farmer’s Bank in Fort Collins who always believed in me and gave me wise guidance, support and friendship through my entire career. Thank you to Tim Hull and Scott Applegate at Bank of Estes for being there when we needed you.
Thank you to the many people in the retail industry, both vendors and sales reps, who supported the store with your help, expertise, and friendship. You were true partners and were greatly appreciated.
Thank you to the many wonderful employees who faithfully did their jobs and were ambassadors not only to RMC, but to Estes Park and RMNP. They became my work family and good friends. I will miss working with you.
Thank you to my best Aussie mate from the Land Down Under, John Maunder, who gave many hours, often times remotely from Australia, providing RMC with the best IT professionalism in Estes Park.
Thank you to my family, most especially my four grandchildren, for patiently waiting for the day when Nana no longer had to go to work. You are my greatest blessings.
Thank you to my husband Charley for being willing to learn the world of retail and for sharing the challenges with me. We have had quite a journey of trials, natural disasters, and successes to reach the finish line, but we made it! And here we go, onto our next chapter of life adventures. There is a world out there for us to explore and it should be a fun time!
And finally, to all of you, our loyal customers. Without all of you, the realization of dreams and successes would not have been possible. Thank you to each and every one of you who gave us the opportunity to serve you and become your friends. We will miss you, please stay in touch. I hope you all have good memories of your time at RMC and maybe even a special item or two in your home that will remind you of us and this beautiful place we call home.
Happy New Year to all of you! May God bless you, as He has me. I am most thankful for each and every one of you. Hope to see you somewhere along our retirement journey!!
