Did some power sewing on my days off last week to get this finished for my brother's girlfriend's birthday yesterday. Her mom had gotten the top at a barn sale and she always wanted it finished. I've had this sitting a box for months now and wanted to surprise her for her birthday while they were in town visiting. From where this top started, to adding the exterior border, and trying to get it to lay flat it came a LONG way. Day one of trying to quilt it got no where fast but frustration and almost sewing through my finger 😅 but from where it started to where it ended up I am really happy with the outcome! 20 pleats to help reduce bunching and major wrinkles, 2 full days of laying it out, pinching, pinning, tucking, and sewing I managed to get it done just in time with a ton of help from my parents.
Thank goodness she was surprised and loved it!

I've been dying to use this new fabric I picked up a few months ago. I finally got around to using a small portion of it on a book sleeve with a magnetic closure even! It is far from perfect and I totally figured it out as I went, but I think it turned out cute!

I was finally able to get some time to work on my block of the month quilt and I am happy with how they turned out! Definitely not perfect, but this has been the most challenging pattern I have done so far. I get to pick up the next 3 blocks in April for the next section!
