JEWEL BEETLE SPECIMEN VIALS

A little piece of beautiful natural iridescence for your own Cabinet of Curiosities.

These specimen vials contain genuine Jewel Beetle wing cases, known scientifically as elytra, from beetles of the family Buprestidae — commonly known as Jewel Beetles or Metallic Wood-Boring Beetles.

Their incredible natural iridescence shifts from emerald and turquoise to brilliant blue and violet as the light moves across them. These colors aren't created by ordinary pigment — their brilliant metallic appearance comes largely from microscopic structures in the elytra interacting with light.

It's one of those natural wonders that really needs to be seen in person!

Caiman crocodilus, commonly known as the Spectacled Caiman, is a crocodilian native to the wetlands, rivers and tropical waterways of Central and South America.🐊

Its name comes from the distinctive bony ridge between the eyes, which creates the appearance of a pair of spectacles.🐊

Like its larger crocodilian relatives, the caiman is remarkably well adapted for life between land and water. Its armored body is protected by rows of hardened scales called osteoderms, while its powerful tail provides propulsion through the water.🐊

Even as a juvenile, the characteristics of an animal whose ancestors have inhabited the Earth for millions of years are unmistakable.🐊

I usually sit outside and eat my breakfast when I get to work in the morning, while I'm unpacking new inventory or working on my social media... I went inside to wait on a couple of customers...
When I came back outside to eat my breakfast...
it was GONE!
A homeless man came in and asked to use the restroom, he must of taken it... I would have given him more had I known he was hungry...lol
