Without our CSA, there might not be a Bella’s Blooms. 💐

Back in 2022, this started as a flower subscription for a handful of friends willing to support a dream I had.

Turns out, the dream became much bigger.

It didn’t take long to realize that people right here in Erie were interested in the flowers we were growing - the unusual varieties, the seasonality, and the idea that beautiful flowers could be grown right here in our own community.

That CSA helped pave the way for almost everything that came after: weddings, events, The Studio, retail sales, wholesale flowers, dahlia tubers, workshops, and so much more.

Now, we’re in our fifth season with a CSA that has grown to 100 members. It still feels so surreal to stop and see what we’ve done here.

If you’re not familiar, a CSA is a seasonal flower subscription and one of the best ways to experience what’s growing on our farm throughout the year.

Members receive bouquets filled with the best of what’s blooming that week. The flowers are grown here, harvested at peak freshness, and arranged around the season rather than a predetermined recipe. One week might look completely different from the next, and that’s kind of the point.

By joining, you’re also supporting all the work that happens before a bouquet reaches your hands: planning, planting, tending, and harvesting.

At the end of the season, we invite our CSA members to the farm for a private tour. It’s a chance to see where their flowers grow, walk the fields, and meet other flower lovers!

Every year, we have so many people asking us how they can join.

The bad news: our 2026 CSA sold out before the winter was over.

The good news: the 2027 CSA sale is just a few months away.

We launch around Black Friday, with newsletter subscribers getting early access. Since it tends to sell out fast, that early access can come in handy.

If you’ve been thinking about joining us next season, get on the newsletter list now:

Five seasons later, the CSA is still one of the most important things we do here, and we’re so grateful that what started with a handful of friends has grown into this.

A full circle experience. 🌺

This past spring, we hosted our first-ever workshop focused on growing dahlias from the ground up. Now, we’re getting photos of those same plants covered in buds and blooms, and we have to say it’s been really fun watching everyone’s progress from afar.

At the same time, our own dahlia fields are starting to wake up in a big way. Plants are filling out, blooms are finally coming on, and we’re beginning to tuck dahlias into arrangements at The Studio this weekend!

So naturally, we’re already thinking about what comes next.

Our next dahlia workshop will happen later this year and will focus on the part that happens after all those flowers are gone: digging the tubers, splitting the clumps, and storing everything properly for winter. A truly interactive experience that will take place on our farm!

If you’re new to dahlias, this part feels a little like magic. You plant one tuber in the spring, grow one plant all summer, and when you dig it in the fall there may be an entire clump waiting underneath.

More tubers. More plants. More dahlias next year! We can see how people get hooked.

Stay tuned for more details to come, and in the meantime come check out what’s blooming at The Studio! 💐

If it’s eye-catching and unique, we’re probably growing and designing with it. 💐

Some flowers are beautiful because they’re rare. Others are beautiful because of what it takes to grow them.

While we grow many types of flowers here, every season on this farm has its “signature” flowers. In the spring, it’s tulips and ranunculus. They’re the blooms that announce winter is finally behind us. Summer has its own stars, and they are lisianthus and dahlias.

The first lisianthus are just beginning to bloom, and they’re always one of the most rewarding flowers to see. Not just because they’re flashy (although they really are), but because we know what it took to get here.

Lisianthus are known for being one of the more challenging cut flowers to grow. They start in January from tiny seeds that are almost dust-like. While other flowers are taking off, lisianthus quietly tests our patience for months.

But then one morning, we walk the field and those first stems are open. Suddenly, all those months of waiting finally pay off.

Now it’s their turn to shine. 💐
