We always look forward to a visit from Northern Door Children's Center!

Looking for a gem of an adventure in Door County? This is it.

Yesterday, our Camp Curiosity crew struck gold… and quartz, and amethyst, and more!

Our young explorers had an unforgettable field trip to Door County Rock and Gem, where they each received a bucket of mining rough and got to experience the excitement of panning for treasures in the sluice! With careful eyes and curious minds, they uncovered a variety of gems and precious stones, then brought their discoveries to the inspection table to learn what they found and where in the world each piece comes from.

Hands-on learning, a little bit of science, and a whole lot of wonder rockhounding!

If you’re looking for a fun, interactive outing for your family this summer, we highly recommend adding Door County Rock and Gem to your list!
