The effort is not to slam, insult, or demean anyone else's preferences, but to make +- 'cleaner' materials more widely available, that also have a certain +- standard of ethics presented as appropriate and/or preferred. In the 1980s, some of us noticed that many people in a wide variety of ages, lifestyles, education and 'religions', agnostic - a very few atheists we knew... Were very frustrated
with their choices in Fiction and Fact, both. I took it upon myself, to atleast try and make a difference. I also needed to make a living! Due to extensive and continued reverses, what 'almost' succeeded, did not. I am trying again :) Work in progress, with more capital needed than I now have :/ to 'do it right' completely. I apologize for the lack of best-best, but not for trying ;) as best possible to current situation. I realize since that time decades ago, cultural tastes have changed somewhat, yes. But in some areas, the selection also seems to have gotten more narrow than it was even then. And, while I am not as involved in large numbers of people on a social or community level as I once was, I still hear an echo, faint though it may be. If I can still hear it, then there are more out there, who would prefer conflict resolution on a different level than the majority of 'mainstream' easiest to obtain. Fair Warning: There are some books that DO have violence and/or types of abuse. We have tried to consider overall style, and for want of better terms, Low-Trauma, Medium Trauma, and/or more Intense Trauma. That will not, of course, solve 'push buttons' people may have in which a story about a happy Christmas or lost dog might set off an emotional reaction. But we've tried to +- departmentalize somewhat among the stated authors, for the readers best enjoyment. For instance, if you read (available short story) "Kelly" or "Daffodils of May" (not quite yet available), you may reasonably expect that usually Tamatha Kerwin books will probably be relatively light. Issues to solve, yes, emotions to deal with, yes -- but most often no one is murdered, there is usually a functional family situation... Some may have more conflict than others, but overall one can usually expect relatively Low Trauma from that stated-author. I call them the lalala type. More tense, is Purple Hearts, with a reference to a fire survivor who remembers the smell of burning flesh -- not in constant, multiple paragraph detail, but mentioned. Blue Eyes, and Queen's Rule in which both the conflict and resolution(s) will be disturbing to some, while others find it empowering. "Kelia's Dreame" was too dark for some, not violent enough for others, and just perfect for those who liked the range between that, and the "Daisy" kind as a mix-it-up balance. There is more range among some of the stated authors' listed books, than others with less, but hopefully :) with familiarity, the reader will find their own enjoyable niche among the overall range offered. There is some indication that is possible. Comments re Ynay's "Only Alone" that basically reflected the, "Perfect," and "I wouldn't change a thing!" idea, and/or "I found it unusual, but yes, I would definitely buy another book from that author," were balm and very welcome! However, there were two that gave me more confidence for a wider world-market:
A person who read almost everything that has ever been printed in the Fiction, Romance genre told me, "It was different enough, I didn't feel like I'd read the exact same thing before." The very blunt one who prefers Stephen King horror types and won't finish a book if not interested, said, "It wasn't too bad. I wasn't totally bored, and I really wanted to find out the end." Which doesn't mean, someone else or many, won't be bored stiff, or hate every book we come up with. ( I also got a few who did NOT like the book at all... which actually made me very happy, because I had wondered if I would get far more of that than I did ! It also made the results more real to me, I wasn't prepared to think that EVERYONE in the world would passionately love the thing.) And... over time :) I have found that there is still a market for this range of materials. Very possibly a small market among the billions of people in the world, yet among that vast throng, yes, I am not the only one who feels these books have a place. And yes, quite honestly, I need to make a living now, as much or more than ever before!
-They are NOT public domain.
-I do have honest rights ( fair and square, not gouging or cheating anyone else ).
-Yes, while I did have a 501c3 non-profit at one time (and will again if...)... This is NOT philanthropic. It is an income making venture I hope is financially beneficial to myself and others, while providing a bit of escape to those who would enjoy :)
If you got this far, you must be amazing! Hope you have a good day.
