I'm so excited to finally be able to share my Anatomy of a Western Saddle collection with everyone!

This project has been very personal to me. I wanted to create something that was not only beautiful enough to display, but also genuinely educational. Every piece and part of the Western saddle is named and described, making it a wonderful reference for horse owners, riders, instructors, students, classrooms, tack rooms, barns, equestrian facilities or simply anyone who loves the Western saddle.

I'm so excited to finally be able to offer this to everyone. This project has been very personal to me, and I've truly enjoyed bringing it together from the smallest details of the Western saddle to creating something that can be both beautiful and genuinely educational.

Each piece and part of the saddle is named and described, making this much more than wall art. It's a resource for anyone who wants to learn more about the Western saddle, while still being a beautiful statement piece for your home, office, tack room, barn, classroom or equestrian community.

I chose to offer it as a museum quality metal print (24"x36") because I love the clarity, detail, and visual impact it gives the finished piece. The modern, frameless presentation lets the saddle and all of its details take center stage.

I'm very proud of how this project came together, and even more excited to finally be able to share it with you.

We are proud to welcome Kenda's Texas Saddles back to the WDAA World Show as a vendor this year!

Kenda has been riding since age two & spent 25 years teaching horsemanship across the United States. As a student of Classical Dressage who rides in a western saddle, she identified two problems early in her career that most riders knew all too well but had no real solution for: saddles built for men, and a complete lack of industry standards for tree sizing.

Kenda's Texas Saddles are built around body types, not arbitrary size categories. After measuring hundreds of horses across the US and internationally, spanning every breed and cross, her team developed a precise system for determining the rafter & rock angles needed for proper bar fit.

We hand skive all our ground seats for the comfort of both genders. For riders working toward the balanced, connected seat that Western Dressage demands, that kind of design intent matters.

Every saddle is handmade in the USA using Hermann Oak leather, real wool liners, and the finest craftsmen in the industry. Several top WDAA trainers are currently riding in Kenda's Texas Saddles, with consistent feedback that their horses are moving freer and more comfortably as a result.

At the World Show this year, their booth will feature stock saddles for sale, new saddles on display, and a new educational product: a detailed western saddle anatomy print. These make excellent show awards, auction items, trainer gifts, or gifts for any horse enthusiast.

There is no industry standard among saddle tree manufacturers. Each company has its own interpretation and configuration of terms such as full QH bars, Semi-quarter, Arabian, Gaited, Mule tree bars.

At Kenda's Texas Saddles, our saddles are built on benchg-made trees crafter for your horse's individual body type. Our trees are designed to fit horses that fall within the same structural parameters, but we recognize that horses vary greatly- even within the same breed.

Crossbreeds can have just as much variation in conformation. That is why we measure and map your horse's back. We evaluate the rafter and rock angles required to create a tree that matches the unique shape of your horse's back.

When the tree mirrors the natural shape of the equine's back, the saddle becomes a true connection between horse and rider. The rider's aids can be clearer, and the horse is better able to move with freedom, balance and willingness.

Cantle variations. When you are creating your new Kenda's Texas Saddle one of the choices for design will be the cantle style. The two variations we offer are Pencil and Cheyenne Roll. Our horses don't care which cantle style we choose, we do.

The Pencil roll is a narrow, rounded leather roll on the top edge of the cantle that resembles a thick pencil, offering a more refined, tailored appearance.

The Cheyenne roll is leather rolled over the top of the cantle and outward to create a lip, serving as both a handhold and a surface for stamping and carving.
