Blooming Where She Was Planted:
Mrs. Kacie Tiner's "Telling Our Story"

For this edition of Telling Our Story, we are featuring a proud Ennis ISD graduate, former employee, and now local business owner whose roots in Ennis run deep. Through every chapter of life, she has carried the lessons, relationships, and sense of community that make Ennis such a special place to call home.

When asked about the people who helped shape her during her time in Ennis ISD, her answer came quickly.

"The people of Ennis ISD have helped shape me in so many ways and played such a big part in who I am today," she said. "For me, it began with Mrs. Martha Cook in first grade. She taught us structure through something as simple as coloring, but she also showed us a love and care that left a lasting impression on me at such a young age."

Having experienced Ennis ISD as a student, employee, and now as a business owner, her perspective has evolved over the years, but one thing has remained constant, the sense of community.

"As a student, Ennis ISD taught me what a hometown truly is," she shared. "The friendships, memories, and bonds I built here have lasted a lifetime. As an employee, I saw firsthand the love, support, and encouragement that students, staff, and families need and deserve. Now, as a business owner, I try to carry that same spirit into everything I do."

That passion is evident in the work she does every day through Thistle + Sage Floral.

"When someone walks through our doors, I want them to feel loved and valued," she said. "Every arrangement we create holds a little piece of my heart for this town and the people who make it special."

Many people leave their hometowns to pursue new opportunities, but for her, investing in Ennis felt like the natural choice.

"Ennis is home," she said. "No matter where life takes you or how much you grow, it stays in your heart. Building a business here has allowed me to grow alongside the people who have been part of my story for years. In a town like Ennis, those relationships mean everything."

As her story continued, she reflected on the lessons from Ennis ISD that still guide her today.

"There are so many, but the biggest one is listening," she explained. "As a student, you listen to your teachers. As an employee, you listen to the needs of your students and coworkers. As a business owner, listening helps you understand people and what they need. Along with that comes compassion and understanding. Those values have stayed with me throughout every chapter of life."

When asked what legacy she hopes to leave behind, her answer reflected both her faith and her heart for the community.

"Thistle + Sage Floral is more than a business, it's family," she said. "I hope future generations grow up knowing the same love and care that I received while growing up here. I want them to know that they are worthy, valued, and deeply loved. You deserve it all, you are loved, and you are more perfect than any flower because He made you exactly how you're supposed to be."

Her story serves as a reminder that the seeds planted in Ennis ISD continue to grow long after graduation, shaping lives, strengthening our community, and inspiring future generations to bloom right where they are planted.
