Just finished a rewrap in Mappa Burl fade on my 12x9" Keller Shell (Maple with rerings) snare with Tama Starclassic lugs, Tama Starcast Mount and Pearl stainer. Just needs new heads and it will be ready for sale. It's a nice side snare

I'll be building a single ply steam bent maple snare with rerings at the beginning of next month. It's 6.5x14". I'm thinking tube lugs with a darker stain finish with a light clear coat. I'm going to try to keep the cost down and will post it when finished with a sale price. This price will not be or best offer but a firm price since I'll be just above my costs on the build. The price will not include shipping costs either. This is a custom single ply snare. I will post pics of progress and completion. When the shell arrives I will post the before pic so you can see the beginning product.

All wrap removed from the 10, 12, and 12" electronic Spacemuffins. Tomorrow will tackle the 15" floor tom and other 12" snare (purchased separately from same era). Then removal of glue to decide whether to wrap again or stain(these drums are Keller shells from the early nineties same as DW used and in great overall condition).

Hardware removed on my Spacemuffins 10" and 12" Tom and 12" snare. Ready for removal of wrap.

PI Custom Drums will be starting a small project on my personal electronic drums. I will be recovering and replacing the hardware on my Boom Theory Spacemuffins World Stage Series prototype drum set to freshen them up. The shells, triggers and all components within the shells will remain original. They are 27+ years old but still play better than even the most expensive Roland sets. Look up Boom Theory on Facebook as he still produces drums in acoustic and electronic setups. I will be doing the toms and snares first over the next month (working at my own pace as they are not for a customer) then the two bass drums while posting pics during the process. When they are finished I will post a walk around and sample video.

Another snare this month going out to a drummer in Tulsa Oklahoma. Birch with waterfall bubinga finish ply. 14x6" Ludwig hardware, upgraded to 3.0mm hoops and Evans heads. The head on it is NOT going with it as it is a used head. The head is being ordered and is an Evans hydraulic red head to match the rest of her kit.

A local build for a local group raffle. It's a steam bent walnut shell with tube lugs and a DW strainer and butt plate. This was the first steam bent I ever built, and the first drum to go out my doors with my wood badge on it. This was over $500 worth of parts to build and I took a big loss but that's what it takes to get the word out. If anyone is interested in a PI Custom Drums snare to be raffled off of this page please let me know by commenting on this post. If I can't get more than 50 comments over the next month I will not do one. It will be a steam bent shell similar to this one with high end components all the way around. The winner will have it shipped to them with only one request. To give a full honest review on this page of the drum. When I say honest, I mean all points both good and bad. The only way we get better is by honest criticism.

My next build will be an electronic kit with high quality parts and Boom Theory's triggering and knowledge. I will build the kit in house, and then send it off to boom theory for retrofit. It will consist of two 20" bass drums, 8, 10, 12 14" mounted toms all 6" deep, 13" snare, and another 3 8" toms 4" deep. These will be made with Keller shells, dfd website hardware (haven't fully decided on combinations) and Evans heads. When complete, hopefully I will have a Boom Theory 0.0 reissue module. There will be a video compilation of building it and retrofit.

Well I've decided to take in a project that is easy enough to do during other projects. I just acquired a SpaceMuffins electronic kit I am going to refurbish. It's not in bad condition. It needs one bass drum lug, new wrap and new heads. I will post pics during and after finishing them up with a video of them being played as well.
